PA Career Education & Work Curriculum 17-18

As of January 1st, 2018 every student in Pennsylvania is now required to complete evidence of work in each of the four areas of the PA CEW Standards.  A comprehensive program was created in January to get students at CCS-515 to complete, and document their progress.  Here is the checklist each student should use to find assignments, and note completion:

Every assignment is listed, with a link to the documents.  Students should create a folder, in their Google Drive, named (Last Name) CEW Evidence 515 and place all completed (scanned) work there for review.  ALL FOLDERS, and CONTENTS should be shared with Mr. Scribner (hscribner@ccs.us), their Homeroom Teacher, and their Counselor for verification.

D-Day (WWII) Enrichment Assignment 17-18

Today I would like everyone to take a minute to think about the courage, sacrifice, and importance of the D-Day Invasion.  This is the 74th Anniversary of this historic event that changed the continent of Europe profoundly!  Please watch the video below in class, read some of the articles related to the event, and if you have time, try to challenge your friend to the Ultimate History Quiz on the History Channel website.  I hope you can understand what kids, most just a few years older than you at the time, helped to do when they were thrust into battle so many years ago!  Thank you in advance for your time and effort with this learning experience.  Please share this with your families!

Today everyone will complete the following FINAL EXAM for Computer Skills & Applications Class (Semester II 17-18: SCRIBNER) Please follow the directions below to complete your exam. When you are finished, there is a link below to take the Course Survey! Both the Final Exam and the Course Survey are GRADED EVENTS!

a. Email is used in place of sending letters to people. It is electronic mail that can be transmitted electronically. Senders can write a letter in different formats and then by addressing it to as many people as required, send each recipient the same message. Recipients can send replies, and emails can be forwarded. Everything happens in fractions of a second. The sender can also attach files such as documents, pictures and hyperlinks along with the email. We have used email all year to communicate, turn in work, and to receive classroom instructions.

b. We can collaborate on numerous projects with it.  We can also communicate with others.

c.  Everyone should use email to transmit messages, and keep an archive of communications with different people.  This is a good way to make sure people get information quickly and completely.
